The Federal Government, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has notified eligible Nigerians of job opportunities at the West African Health Organization (WAHO), a specialized agency of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), with its headquarters in Bobo-Dioulasso, Burkina Faso.
Mrs. Francisca Omayuli, the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, issued a statement on Friday, revealing that WAHO is currently in the process of recruiting fifteen Financial Managers, one for each of the ECOWAS Member Countries.
WAHO’s mission is focused on providing the highest level of healthcare services to the populations of the West African sub-region. This mission is built on the harmonization of policies among Member States and the pooling of resources.
The newly recruited Financial Managers will play a pivotal role in this mission, as they will each be part of the Steering Committee responsible for disbursing financial resources to the various countries within WAHO. These disbursements will be based on the effective implementation of healthcare activities financed by the organization.
For those interested in applying for these positions and obtaining more information about the application process, the career portal of WAHO can be accessed at the following link: [WAHO Career Portal] (https://data.wahooas.org/tenders/tenders/list). Deadline for the application is 18th September, 2023 at 12:00 P.M. UTC.
This opportunity not only represents a chance for Nigerians to contribute to the improvement of healthcare services in the West African region but also demonstrates the commitment of ECOWAS and WAHO to enhancing healthcare outcomes for its member states. Interested candidates are encouraged to explore this opportunity and apply accordingly.
