Mummified Man to Finally Receive Burial After 128 Years on Display in Pennsylvania Funeral Home.

A mummified man known as “Stoneman Willie” is set to be laid to rest after a staggering 128 years of being on display at a funeral home in Pennsylvania, USA.
According to reports, Stoneman Willie earned his peculiar nickname due to his mysterious past. He was an alcoholic who met his demise from kidney failure while in custody at a local jail. His incarceration came after being arrested for pickpocketing on November 19, 1895.
It was during the late 19th century, amidst the backdrop of evolving embalming techniques, that he was unintentionally mummified by a mortician, as recounted by Auman’s Funeral Home.
Stoneman Willie has remained in a remarkable state of preservation throughout the decades. Dressed in a well-preserved suit complete with a bow tie, he has been displayed in an ornate coffin featuring a red sash gracefully draped across his chest. His hair and teeth have remained intact, and his skin has taken on a leathery appearance, offering a unique glimpse into the past.
For years, Stoneman Willie’s true identity remained a mystery as he had provided a false name at the time of his arrest, making it challenging for local officials to contact any potential relatives.
However, recent efforts utilizing historical documents have successfully unveiled Stoneman Willie’s real name, and this newfound information will be inscribed at the bottom of his tombstone as he is finally laid to rest on October 7th.
Stoneman Willie will mark an end of an intriguing chapter in Pennsylvania’s history, providing closure to a story that has captivated the region for well over a century.
