Saudi Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Receives Egyptian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Srei.

Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Executive Affairs H.E. Abdulhadi bin Ahmed received Egyptian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Mr. Ehab Abu Srei, on Monday, 12th May, 2025 during which they reviewed the strong fraternal relations and joint cooperation between the two countries and discussed issues of mutual interest.

Egypt and Saudi Arabia have a complex and multifaceted diplomatic relationship rooted in historical and fraternal ties. Both countries are influential in the Arab world, with Egypt being the most populous Arab country and Saudi Arabia a member of the G20 and a major economic power.

The relationship between the two countries has experienced periods of strong cooperation, particularly when they share common interests and goals.

In the past, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE formed a close alliance after the military took power in Cairo in 2013, showcasing their ability to work together on regional issues.

In 2024, the Saudi-Egyptian relationship was highlighted as an example of joint trade and enduring cooperation, demonstrating the ongoing efforts to strengthen bilateral ties.
