The African Diaspora Collective (TADC) and The Nembe Local Government Council of Bayels State, under the leadership of Chairman Honorable David Alagoa have announced a groundbreaking global partnership to expand the 10,000 Fruit Tree Planting Project into a multi-country climate and food security initiative.
This local initiative, launched in Nembe on World Environment Day is now set to enter an international phase, which aims to promote agricultural entrepreneurship, eco-tourism, and environmental sustainability. It is now being adopted across Africa, the Caribbean, Canada, Israel, and Asia/Oceania through TADC’s network of global Ambassadors.
The project aligns with Project 2040, the flagship project of the Fight for 15 Global Compact, a campaign to mobilise global action for Black Economic Liberation over the next 15 years in 15 industries over 15 African countries and 15 African descendant countries by creating 15,000 jobs a year ultimately creating 50 million jobs by 2040.
“Nembe has planted more than seeds—it has planted a vision,” said Her Excellency Davisha L. Johnson, TADC Ambassador to Africa and Founder of the Project 2040. “We are proud to stand with Chairman Alagoa and amplify this project across the world. This is more than treeplanting—this is legacy planting.”
Key Highlights of the Partnership Include:
- $15 Global Solidarity Contribution: TADC Ambassadors and supporters will contribute $15 each as a symbolic act of unity with the Nembe project and support for the global Fight for $15 movement.
- Launch of the “Save Your Seeds” and 1,000 Tree Kick-Off Campaigns:
TADC Ambassadors will begin parallel efforts in their home countries to replicate the Nembe model by promoting local fruit tree planting and community engagement. - Digital Expansion: A landing page and tracking system will showcase global participation, including tree counts, stories, and ambassadorial endorsements.
- International Cultural and Agricultural Bridge: Nembe will serve as the central node of an agricultural and cultural exchange program between Nigeria and TADC Embassies Globally.
According to the Chairman of Nembe Local Government, “This is the power of the African Diaspora reconnecting with the Continent in meaningful, practical ways”. “Through this partnership, Nembe’s agricultural potential is now linked to a global movement for sustainability and dignity.”
The partnership also lays the groundwork for launching TADC’s One Hectare Sustainable Farm (OHSF) Models in Nigeria, and beyond, with aspirations of securing long-term support from sovereign wealth funds and international development partners.
TADC and Nembe LGA invite schools, governments, civil society, and individuals across the globe to plant trees, save seeds, and grow together—rooted in a shared commitment to climate justice, food security, and the return of the African Diaspora.
