Senator Seriake Dickson Bags Pillar of Nigeran Democracy Award.

National Leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) and former Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson is to be decorated with Pillar of Nigerian Democracy Award at the Diplomatic Digest 6th Anniversary Lecture, Dinner and Awards scheduled to hold at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre, Abuja on Thursday, 30th July, 2026.
Senator Dickson who represents the people of Bayelsa West in the Nigerian Senate for a record two terms is the Founder and National Leader of the NDC.
The award is in recognition of Senator Dickson’s unwavering commitment to democratic governance, constitutionalism, the rule of law, and his consistent contributions to the growth and consolidation of democracy in Nigeria. Throughout his years in public service, he has distinguished himself as a principled statesman, advocate of justice, and champion of good governance.
The event which holds as part of the Diplomatic Digest 6th Year Anniversary Lecture, Dinner and Awards will bring together distinguished personalities from government, the diplomatic community, academia, the media, civil society, and the private sector to celebrate outstanding individuals whose leadership and service have positively impacted Nigeria’s democratic development. This honour further underscores Senator Dickson’s enduring legacy as one of the nation’s foremost defenders of democratic values.
This year’s Lecture titled Chinese Diplomatic Tool and Redefinition of Global Governance System, will be delivered by Professor sheriff Ghali Ibrahim, Provost anti-Corruption Academy of Nigeria and Head of Contemporary China-Africa Research in Nigeria.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu will be Special Guest of Honour at the event.
