Ambssador Kedir Presents Letter Of Credence To South African President Ramaphosa.

Ambassador Delil Kedir Bushra has presented his Letter of Credence as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia to the Republic of South Africa to Cyril Ramaphosa, President of the Republic of South Africa, at the Union Building.

Ambassador Delil Kedir Bushra’s diplomatic career has been marked by significant milestones, particularly in his role as Ethiopia’s representative to Somaliland.

Prior to his appointment as Ambassador, Delil Kedir served as Ethiopia’s ordinary representative in Hargeisa, Somaliland.

In a move that signifies Ethiopia’s recognition of Somaliland as an independent entity, Delil Kedir was promoted to full Ambassador despite Somalia’s objections . This upgrade in diplomatic status is a notable development in the region.

Ethiopia and South Africa have a long history of diplomatic relations. In fact, Ethiopia was a fierce opponent of apartheid South Africa. After the democratic elections of 1994, the two countries established official bilateral relations for the first time
