AU Calls For Stronger Collaboration To Address Security Challenges In Africa.

The Deputy Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Selma Malika Haddadi, has emphasised the importance of sustained consultations, and collaboration between the Economic Community of West African States, ECOWAS, and the African Union, AU, in addressing peace and security challenges on the continent.

Haddadi stated this in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, when members of the ECOWAS Mediation and Security Council paid a courtesy visit to the leadership of the African Union Commission.

According to a statement by the ECOWAS Commission, the visit was as part of the programme for the 2nd Joint Consultative Forum between the ECOWAS Mediation and Security Council, (MSC), at Ambassadorial Level, and the AU Peace and Security Council (PSC).

The delegation led by the Permanent Representative of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to ECOWAS, and Chairperson of the MSC at Ambassadorial Level, Ambassador Musa Sani Nuhu, was warmly received by the Deputy Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Selma Malika Haddadi.
