Governor General of Canada Her Excellency, Right Honourable Mary Simon welcomed Wang Di, the new Chinese ambassador to Canada, who presented his credentials in Ottawa. Simon emphasized the importance of China as a major global influencer and a significant trading partner for Canada. She expressed Canada’s readiness to enhance bilateral relations for mutual benefit.
In the past 54 years of diplomatic ties, Simon noted fruitful cooperation between China and Canada across various sectors, benefiting both nations. Ambassador Wang underscored China’s commitment to strengthening relations with Canada based on mutual respect, finding common ground, and pursuing win-win cooperation.
Wang, who arrived in Canada on May 24, highlighted the significance of maintaining healthy and stable bilateral relations.
