The Director-General of the Nigerian Technical Aid Corps (NTAC), Rt. Hon. Yusuf Buba Yakub, has lauded the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Amb. Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, for his outstanding leadership, dedication to national service, and impact on Nigeria’s foreign policy.
In a birthday tribute, Buba Yakub described Tuggar as a visionary leader whose capacity, discipline, and charisma have significantly influenced those privileged to work with him. He emphasized the Minister’s achievements in advancing Nigeria’s foreign relations within a short period.
The message, released in Abuja on Friday by Mr. Nkem Anyata-Lafia, Special Assistant to the NTAC DG (Media and Publicity), expressed admiration for Tuggar’s selfless service.
In his statement, titled “A Million Hearty Cheers on the Celebration of a New Year,” Buba Yakub highlighted Tuggar’s ability to inspire and mentor others. He described him as a leader committed to excellence, resilience, and innovation.
“You have demonstrated capacity, energy to drive dreams, discipline to push through adversity, and the intelligence and charisma to stay focused on the goals,” Buba Yakub stated. “You have redefined our nation’s Foreign Policy Goals within a short period and carved a niche for yourself as a man of excellence.”
He further extended warm wishes on behalf of his family, the NTAC management, and staff, expressing gratitude for Tuggar’s contributions to Nigeria’s global engagement.
Amb. Tuggar, a former House of Representatives member and immediate past Nigerian Ambassador to Germany, has played a pivotal role in repositioning Nigeria’s foreign affairs.
Since assuming office as Minister, he has introduced strategic reforms, including the 4-D Foreign Policy Initiative under the Tinubu Administration, widely regarded as “The Tinubu Doctrine.” His efforts have strengthened Nigeria’s diplomatic relations and elevated the country’s global standing.
As the Bauchi State-born diplomat marked his 58th birthday earlier this week, his leadership and contributions continue to attract praise from colleagues and stakeholders.
