With a strong presence both in print and online, it serves as a bridge between global diplomatic communities and the people and cultures they engage with, offering context, credibility, and clarity in an increasingly complex world.
At a time when diplomacy plays a critical role in shaping global development, security, and cooperation, provides a platform where these conversations are documented, interpreted, and shared with a diverse audience across Nigeria and beyond.

His Excellency, Elvis Afriyie-Ankrah, Special Envoy to President John Mahama on Inter-Faith and Ecumenical Relations.

Your Excellencies, Distinguished Guests, Ladies and Gentlemen,
Good evening.
I am deeply humbled and honoured to accept this prestigious Diplomatic Leadership Award from Diplomatic Digest. I thank the organisers sincerely for this recognition, which I receive not as an individual achievement, but as a collective tribute to all those who have walked with me on the journey of service, diplomacy, peacebuilding, and nationhood.
Permit me to express my profound appreciation to the government and the good people of the Federal Republic of Nigeria for their warm hospitality, as well as their steadfast leadership on the continent and their enduring commitment to regional peace and integration.
To my beloved country, Ghana, and to the resilient, peace-loving Ghanaian people, I say thank you. Your spirit of unity and tolerance continues to inspire me. I wish to particularly acknowledge the National Democratic Congress (NDC), our great party, for the opportunity it has given me to serve, and for its unwavering belief in the ideals of social justice, freedom, and inclusive governance.
I cannot accept this honour without remembering the towering figures who mentored and shaped me. The late Flt. Lt. Jerry John Rawlings, the visionary founder of the NDC, whose commitment to probity and accountability remains timeless. The late President Professor John Evans Atta-Mills, a gentle pillar, from whom I drew invaluable lessons in humility, peace-building, and the sanctity of human dignity.
And yet, there is one person without whom this moment would be incomplete: H.E. John Dramani Mahama, Ghana’s current President and my personal mentor. I proudly and wholeheartedly dedicate this award to him. His unwavering commitment to the development and dignity of the Ghanaian people is deeply inspiring.
Today, under his leadership, Ghana is undergoing a thoughtful and bold Reset Agenda—an effort to rebuild our nation’s systems, infrastructure, and values. With his visionary pursuit of the 24-Hour Economy, President Mahama is reimagining how we work, produce, and serve—unlocking productivity, jobs, and inclusive growth. It is an agenda of hope, resilience, and pragmatic transformation, rooted in the understanding that every Ghanaian deserves a life of purpose, dignity, and peace.
Friends, we live in times of turbulence—geopolitical, religious, ethnic. But if there is one truth that transcends borders and beliefs, it is the universal commandment of love. Whether through Judaism, Christianity, or Islam, the core message is the same: love for one another. Jesus taught us to love our neighbours as ourselves. The Holy Qur’an teaches compassion and mercy. The Torah commands us to pursue peace.
So, I ask—how can we claim faith, yet promote hate? How can we profess love, yet engage in division? If we truly lived by the tenets of our faiths, the world would indeed be a haven of peace.
Let us therefore commit ourselves—diplomats, politicians, civil society, and citizens alike—to mutual respect, tolerance, and dialogue. For in our diversity lies our strength, and in our unity, our collective peace.
Once again, I thank you all for this honour. May we continue to build bridges, not walls.
God bless you all. God bless Ghana and Nigeria. God bless Africa.
Thank you.
Ambassador Davisha L. Johnson
Goodwill Ambassador to the State of Georgia, USA
Ambassador of the African Diaspora Collective Worldwide African Embassy
President, Cooperative Executive Management Team

Distinguished guests, honored dignitaries, and esteemed members of the Diplomatic Digest community,
On behalf of Ambassador Davisha L. Johnson, it is my deepest honor and privilege to accept this Diplomatic Leadership Award. Though she cannot be with us physically today, her heart, her spirit, and her commitment to the mission we all share is deeply present in this room.
Ambassador Johnson extends her sincere congratulations to the other honorees—most especially Her Excellency Ambassador Prof. Olufolake Abdulrazaq and Hon. Elvis Afriyie-Ankrah. Your lives of service, diplomacy, and humanitarian excellence inspire us all. We rise with you today in solidarity, in vision, and in shared purpose.
From her roots as a little girl growing up in Houston, Texas, Ambassador Johnson’s journey has been guided by a calling much larger than herself—one rooted in determination, perseverance, and passion for black people and to follow our ancestors’ dreams of return, restoration, and unity. That calling has taken her across continents and cultures—from the United States to Canada, the Caribbean, and now back to the African continent as the Goodwill Ambassador to the State of Georgia and Global Ambassador of the African Diaspora Collective Worldwide African Embassy.
The African Diaspora Collective is comprised of 8 different entities including a Chamber of Commerce and Industry, New School of Agriculture and Technology, Global Telecommunications Agency, and more —TADC Worldwide —is not just an organization; it is a movement. A movement building infrastructure for connectivity, self-sustainability, and economic sovereignty among Black people around the world. Our mission is to reconnect the children of Africa through spirit—to build, trade, educate, invest, and thrive together.
From vertically integrated, self-sustaining farms for smallholder farmers, to women and girls empowerment, to creating youth jobs and young entrepreneurs and global business ecosystems bridging the Middle East, the Caribbean, the UK, EU, Asia-Pacific and Africa—Ambassador Johnson stands as the proud President of a farm management services company called the Cooperative Executive Management Team determined to restore land, life, and livelihood for our people. Because food is freedom. And freedom is our birthright.
And yes—Africa is everything to Ambassador Johnson and continues to give her everything she needs as a returned through opportunities like this to be honored amongst African leaders and recognized as such is truly an honor. Africa gives life. Africa gives identity. And the diaspora only ever wanted one thing: to come home. Not because we are Ghanaian, or Nigerian, or Senegalese—but because we are African. And Africa is in us.
This award is not for one person. It is for a global community of volunteers, leaders, and believers, many of whom are here today. People like Hussain Hamzah, who has come all the way from Kaduna to read this message, and who has been there since day one of our establishment I thank him dearly for his unwavering commitment that mirrors the spirit of millions of Nigerians whose tenacity, generosity, and vision make you all unmatched builders of a better tomorrow.
This award belongs to all of us—stakeholders, investors, youth leaders, and supporters across the world. And as the African Diaspora Collective grows and expands across the ECOWAS as Ambassador Johnson became a naturalized citizen of Ghana last year she wasted no time using her ECOWAS Passport traveling to Nigeria 3 times in the last 3 months. Two truths remains clear: She loves Nigerians and
Africa is everything. Everything is in Africa. And Africa is in me.
I thank Diplomatic Digest for this immense honor. I regret not being able to attend today, but I will be in Nigeria next week for 30 days, and I warmly invite anyone who wishes to connect with me during my stay to reach out to Mr. Hussain Hamzah to arrange time. Please take lots of pics and celebrate this moment—we’ve all earned it.
Thank you, and may we continue to live out the dreams of our ancestors together.
With deepest gratitude.
