ECOWAS Election Observation Mission Applauds Peaceful Presidential Election In Benin Republic

The Commissioner for Political Affairs, Peace and Security, Economic Community of West African States, ECOWAS, Abdel-Fatau MUSAH, has praised the smooth running of the Presidential election in Benin Republic.According to a statement today by the ECOWAS Commission, Abuja, Commissioner Abdel-Fatau Musa, and officials from the ECOWAS Election Observation Mission (EOM), visited the WANEP Situation Room and observed the counting of votes from the election, in Cotonou, Benin Republic.Commissioner Abdel-Fatau MUSAH who represented the Head of Mission, Nana AKUFO-ADDO, praised the smooth running of the election, and highlighted the peaceful and calm atmosphere that prevailed throughout the day.After nine hours of voting, the ECOWAS Election Observation Mission monitored the election on Sunday 12 April in the late afternoon, and the counting of votes at the polling station at the Cadjèhoun Public Primary School (EPP) in Benin’s economic capital.
