ECOWAS Observation Mission Arrives Conakry Ahead Of Presidential Election.

The Economic Community of West African States, ECOWAS, Observation Mission, EOM, deployed by the Economic Community of West African States in Guinea, has arrived Conakry Ahead of the Presidential election scheduled to hold December 28, 2025.

According to a statement by the ECOWAS Commission, the Head of the EOM, Mr Abdoulie Janneh, expressed their support and solidarity in achieving peaceful, free and transparent elections.

“We are here to offer ECOWAS’ support and solidarity to the Republic of Guinea for peaceful, free and transparent presidential elections”, Mr Janneh said.

Among the Mission are a Gambian national, Dr Abdoulie Janneh, who arrived at the same time as the Deputy of the Head of the EOM, also a Nigerian Senator, Lawan Gana Guba, and the ECOWAS Commissioner for Political Affairs, Peace and Security,
Ambassador Dr Abdel-Fatau Musah.

According to Dr Abdoulie Janneh, the election will make way for the return of constitutional order in Guinea.

“The election of the future president of the republic will mark the end of the transition and the return to constitutional order in Guinea following the adoption of the new Constitution by referendum on 21 September”, Dr Janneh said.
