ECOWAS PARLIAMENT’S COMMITTEE EMBARKS ON OVERSIGHT TO SENEGAL

The Chairman of the Economic Community of West African States, (ECOWAS), Parliament’s Committee on Political Affairs, Peace, Security and African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM), Senator Edwin Melvin Snowe Jr. has led a joint Committee to Dakar Senegal on an oversight mission.

The delegation of the Parliament which embarked on the oversight function, conducted an oversight on the Inter-Governmental Action Group Against Money Laundering in West Africa (GIABA), and the ECOWAS Gender Development Center (EGDC).

According to Senator Snowe Jr., the oversight will go a long way in enhancing the ECOWAS Parliament’s capacity to contribute to the formulation of policies to help both institutions achieve their goals, and support regional integration, peace and security.

He expressed satisfaction for the cooperation and support accorded the delegation of the Parliament, by the GIABA Director General, Mr. Edwin W. Harris Jr., and its staff, as well as the EGDC Director, Madam Sandra Oulate Fattoh, and its Staff.
