Embassy of Finland in Nigeria Celebrates World’s Literacy Day

By Admin.

Since 1967, International Literacy Day (ILD) celebrations have taken place annually around the world to remind the public of the importance of literacy as a matter of dignity and human rights, and to advance the literacy agenda towards a more literate and sustainable society.

The theme of International Literacy Day this year is “Transforming Literacy learning Spaces”. It is celebrated worldwide to raise awareness of the importance of literacy.

The Embassy of Finland in Nigeria celebrates  in a special way using their verified Twitter handle with the wordings “What better time than today, the #InternationalLiteracyDay to spend an hour reading anything from a book or anything else you enjoy”!
