Experts Brainstorm On Mobile Network Roaming Implementation In West Africa.

The Economic Community of West African States, ECOWAS, has organized a meeting on the monitoring and evaluation of the implementation of the ECOWAS Regulation C/REG.21/12/17 on Roaming on Public Mobile Communications Networks, coinciding with the 18th meeting of Roaming focal points.

The two-day meeting which is being hosted by Lomé, capital of the Republic of Togo, from August 20, 2025, with virtual, and on-site participants, brings together dignitaries and experts from across West Africa.

These include the focal points of the National Regulatory Authorities of ECOWAS Member States, representatives of the Secretariat of the West African Telecommunications Regulators’ Assembly (WATRA), representatives of the ECOWAS Commission Directorate of Digital Economy and Postal Services, representatives of the West African Economic and Monetary Union, UEMOA, and the ECOWAS National Office in Togo, as well as representatives of mobile operators operating in the region.

The 18th meeting of the experts focused on evaluating the implementation of roaming on public mobile communication networks.
