Farewell Call By Ambassador of Ethiopia On Ghana’s Deputy Minister For Foreign Affairs.

On Thursday, 12th February, 2026 Ghana’s Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, Honourable James Gyakye Quayson (MP) received His Excellency Teferi Fikir Gosaye for a farewell call upon the completion of his tour of duty as the Ambassador of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia to the Republic of Ghana.

Honourable Gyakye Quayson commended His Excellency Gosaye for his dedicated service and contribution in strengthening the cordial relations between Ghana and Ethiopia which predates the independence of the former. He noted the steady growth in cooperation across key sectors including aviation, trade, tourism, education and institutional collaboration and affirmed the commitment of Ghana to deepen bilateral ties and promote integration in line with shared Pan-African vision of both countries. He further underscored the importance of African cooperation, intra-African trade and strengthened connectivity as critical drivers of sustainable development on the continent. He assured the outgoing Envoy of the continued goodwill of Ghana and wished him success in his future endeavours.

On his part, His Excellency Gosaye expressed appreciation to the Government and people of Ghana for the warm hospitality and cooperation extended to him throughout his tour of duty and also commended Ghana for its democratic credentials, peaceful environment and strong institutions, describing the country as stable, secure and welcoming. He highlighted the progress made in the relations between Ghana and Ethiopia, particularly the expansion of Ethiopian Airlines operations in Ghana as a symbol of enhanced connectivity and integration. He then stressed the importance of African solidarity, self-reliance and the need for African solutions to African challenges.

The Deputy Minister and the Ambassador expressed confidence in the continuous cooperation between the two countries.
