Foreign Affairs Minister, Amb. Tuggar Recieves Ambassador of Lebanon To Nigeria, Diab.

The Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, received in audience, the Ambassador of Lebanon to Nigeria, H.E. Houssam Diab on Wednesday, 8 January 2025. The meeting discussed mutual areas of interest and strengthening relations between both countries.
Ambassador Houssam Diab is a lawyer and diplomat who is currently serving as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Federal Republic of Nigeria. He was educated at the American University of Beirut, where he received a degree in Sciences in 1990, and later obtained a degree in Arts and Business from the same university in 1992. Diab also earned a bachelor’s degree in Law from the Lebanese University in Beirut in 1994.
Diab began his diplomatic career in the 1990s when he joined the foreign ministry, and was posted to the Lebanon Embassy in Washington, D.C. as First Secretary in 1995. He served in this role until 1999, when he was appointed Counsellor, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Permanent Mission of Lebanon to the United Nations in New York. Diab has also served as Consul General of Lebanon in Los Angeles from 2008 to 2010, and later transferred to the Consulate in Detroit in 2011. He was appointed ambassador in 2012 and deployed to the Sultanate of Oman in 2013, serving there until 2017 when he was deployed to the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
