Ghana And South Africa Sign Visa Waiver Agreement For Ordinary Passport Holders.

Effective from  November 1, 2023, Ghanaian and South African travelers may transit through, depart from and stay in the territory of both countries for a cumulative period of up to ninety (90) days without recourse to work.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Ghanaian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration on Friday, 13th October, 2023 and made available on its verified social media handle X.

According to the statement, “the republic of Ghana and the Republic of South Africa have entered into an agreement on a visa waiver regime for holders of ordinary passport”.

The traveling public was advised to take note of the development.

In a separate statement from the South African High Commission in Ghana, said ordinary passport holders are expected to apply for a visa after the 90 days period.
