Maritime Security: US Coast Guard Cutter Mohawk (WMEC 913) Arrives Lagos.

The U.S. and Nigeria have a proud maritime partnership of promoting peace, stability, and security in Africa.  Consul General Will Stevens welcomed United States Coast Guard Cutter Mohawk (WMEC 913) to Lagos for a scheduled visit Western Navy Command and Naval Dockyard. 
Commanding Officer aboard USCGC Mohawk, Cmdr Andrew Pate during the visit remarked that “maritime security is critical to security and stability. Mohwawk visit is an opportunity to collaborate on our shared goals, and reiterate our commitment to improving maritime security, stability and prosperity of our allies and partners”.
Nigeria maintains the largest Navy in the Gulf of Guinea region and is critical to security and stability in Africa. Rear Admiral Y.B Wambai, Flag Officer Commanding  Western Naval Command, received the visitors as well as the US Consul General Will Stevens.
