Melania Urges Putin to Make Peace “For Women and Children” in Letter Handed Over by Trump.

At the Alaska summit between the United States and Russia, US President Donald Trump handed Vladimir Putin a handwritten letter from First Lady Melania Trump, urging the Russian leader to embrace peace for the sake of children.
According to Fox News, Putin read the “peace letter” immediately after Trump presented it, as both delegations watched.
“In today’s world, some children are forced to carry a quiet laughter, untouched by the darkness around them,” the letter read. “Mr Putin, you can singlehandedly restore their melodic laughter. In protecting the innocence of these children, you will do more than serve Russia alone, you serve humanity itself.”
The first lady’s office reposted the Fox News report on X on Saturday, a day after Trump and Putin’s high-stakes meeting ended without a breakthrough.
“Such a bold idea transcends all human division,” the letter added. “And you, Mr Putin, are fit to implement this vision with a stroke of the pen today. It is time.”
Trump has previously acknowledged Melania’s influence on his view of the Russian leader. In July, he said she often reminded him of the suffering caused by Russian strikes.
The Alaska summit was Trump’s latest attempt to end the Ukraine war, a promise central to his second-term campaign. Ahead of the talks, he had threatened “severe consequences” if Moscow refused a ceasefire. But after meeting Putin, he shifted stance, saying a direct peace agreement rather than a ceasefire was the best way forward.
Putin has long advocated for final peace negotiations, a position Kyiv and its allies view as a ploy to consolidate Russia’s battlefield gains.
