MURIC Opposes Minister’s Plans To Partner With Israeli Security Experts.

By Caroline Ameh

The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has voiced strong opposition to the plans of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesome Wike, to collaborate with Israeli security experts to address security challenges in the capital city of Abuja.

In a statement released on Thursday, MURIC, represented by its Executive Director, Prof. Ishaq Akintola, raised concerns about the potential consequences of such a partnership, claiming that it could exacerbate Nigeria’s security issues by transforming them from local crises into international conflicts involving intelligence agencies such as MOSSAD (Israel’s secret spies), the American CIA, and the Russian SVR and FSB.

Prof. Akintola pointed out that the move by Minister Wike could be attributed to a misconception held by some Nigerian Christians, including the minister himself, that Israel is a Christian state. MURIC asserted that Israel primarily recognizes and respects Judaism, and cited recent incidents, including reports of Jews spitting on Christian pilgrims in Jerusalem and ongoing attacks against Christians within Israel, as evidence.

Furthermore, MURIC emphasized Israel’s contentious history at the United Nations, where it has repeatedly disregarded resolutions condemning its actions against Palestinians. The organization argued that partnering with what it referred to as a “terrorist state” would not be in Nigeria’s best interest and suggested that Minister Wike consider taking Israeli experts to Rivers State instead.

MURIC’s statement has sparked a debate over the potential implications of the proposed collaboration between the FCT and Israeli security experts, highlighting the complex geopolitical dynamics at play in the region.

The Ministry of the Federal Capital Territory has not yet responded to these concerns as time of filing this report.
