Nigeria, Israel Chart Way Forward To Tackle Critical Multilateral Issues.

The Honourable Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Federal Republic of Nigeria, Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Israel, Her Excellency, Sharren Miriam Haskel-Harpaz, have met for a comprehensive and productive Political Dialogue.
The meeting, which held on Monday, 11th August, 2025, in Abuja, Nigeria in a cordial atmosphere, was a testament to the enduring and strategic partnership between Nigeria and Israel.
According to a joint communique on the occasion of the Political Dialogue between the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the State of Israel, the Technical Session of the Political Dialogue was co-chaired by the Director (Regions), Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Nigeria, Ambassador Janet Olisa, and the Deputy Director General, Head of Africa Division, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Israel, Ambassador Sharon Bar-Li.
During the meeting, critical multilateral issues on security, counter-terrorism, as well as important bilateral political and economic matters, were discussed. The two countries endorsed the valuable ideas and initiatives exchanged during the deliberations.
Meanwhile the two countries agreed that the issue of security and terrorism was a global concern that requires the support and cooperation of every country. Having outlined some of the security challenges, both countries emphasised the need to deepen collaborations in the areas of counter-terrorism, intelligence, and sharing of information, with special emphasis on the area of financing and security training.

The two countries also emphasised the need for stronger collaboration at the multilateral level, especially in solidarity on critical issues for each of the parties, noting other areas of interest covered during the meeting which include mutual desire to cooperate in the areas of technology, innovation for border management, capacity building, culture, tourism, agriculture, consular, and immigration matters.
On exchange of study tours, both countries agreed that there should be between them. They further agreed to a more robust bilateral relationship, and to ensure constant dialogue in the future for the benefit of both countries.
