By Caroline Ameh

Popular reality TV show “90 Day Fiancé,” Nigerian cast member Michael Ilesanmi has been reported missing by his wife, Angela Deem. According to Ms. Deem, Mr. Ilesanmi departed their shared residence in the US without his personal belongings last Friday, and his current whereabouts remain unknown.

The couple’s journey began when they met on Facebook and subsequently tied the knot in 2020, despite initial hurdles with Mr. Ilesanmi’s US visa applications. Eventually, he successfully obtained a visa and joined Ms. Deem in Georgia last December.

Given the portrayal of their relationship as physically and verbally abusive on the show and its various spin-offs, speculation regarding the circumstances surrounding Mr. Ilesanmi’s disappearance has intensified. Viewers of TLC, the cable channel that airs “90 Day Fiancé,” have closely followed the couple’s tumultuous journey as they navigate the complexities of their relationship within the confines of the 90-day window provided by the American K-1 fiancé visa.

In a TikTok livestream, Ms. Deem disclosed that authorities have been informed about her husband’s disappearance, leaving fans eagerly awaiting updates on the situation and hoping for Mr. Ilesanmi’s safe return.

Thankfully, Michael has been found safe. However, the circumstances surrounding his disappearance has left many in shock.

Michael revealed that he ran away from his wife out of fear for his safety, a claim supported by his communication with the local Hazlehurst, Georgia, police department.

In a surprising twist, Michael disclosed that he had a secret cellphone which his wife didn’t know about. He also told the police that he didn’t want her to know his whereabouts.

Upon learning that Michael had been found, Angela was reportedly furious and revealed that Michael left their home in Georgia because she asked him to. She further accused him of being gay because he refused to sleep with her.

She further threatened to involve immigration authorities to deport him back to Nigeria since she now knows his location.

However, she refused to disclose further details about their troubled marriage because of her 90 Day Fiance contractual agreement.
