Prince Harry And Meghan To Visit Nigeria On Private Invitation.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan, have accepted an invitation from Nigeria’s Chief of Defense Staff, Gen. Christopher Musa, to visit Nigeria in a private capacity.
British High Commissioner in Nigeria, Dr. Richard Montgomerry, confirmed this during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) while on a courtesy visit to the agency’s Managing Director, Malam Ali M. Ali in Abuja on Monday.
Montgomerry clarified that the British High Commission is not involved in arranging or facilitating the couple’s programme, emphasizing that the visit is not an official representation of the British government.
The royal couple is set to commence their journey on May 8th by attending the 10th anniversary celebration of the Invictus Games at St. Paul’s Cathedral in London. Meghan will later join Prince Harry in Nigeria for a series of engagements aimed at fostering cultural exchange and celebrating the resilience of service members.
Their itinerary includes visits to military rehabilitation centers, sports facilities, and meetings with local organizations supporting veterans’ welfare. Additionally, they will attend cultural events and engage in discussions with community leaders on various topics.
This visit holds special significance as it underscores Prince Harry’s dedication to the Invictus Games, an international sporting event for wounded, injured, and sick servicemen and women. The couple’s previous interactions with Team Nigeria during last year’s Invictus Games in Germany showcased their support and camaraderie.
Meghan’s connection to Nigeria through her revealed Nigerian ancestry further deepens the bond between the Duchess and the Nigerian people, fostering a sense of shared identity and belonging.
