The Foreign Minister of Serbia, H.E. Marko Durić is on 3-day official visit to Ghana.
Ghanaian Foreign Affairs Minister, Sam Okudzeto Ablakwa on his official X-handle on Friday welcomed the visiting Minister with delight and great honour.
According to Ablakwa, “We are excited to welcome Minister Durić to our beautiful country — the gateway to Africa. It’s a source of tremendous pride to see our relations blossom since Ghana and Serbia established formal diplomatic ties in 1959”.

“President Nkrumah and President Tito were the architects of our strong bilateral relations. They both pioneered the formation of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) in 1961. The Accra International Conference Centre which was built by Serbian engineers in preparation for the 10th Ministerial Conference of the NAM in 1991 is a significant symbol of our collaboration”, Ablakwa declared.
Discussions re-affirmed both countries belief in the UN Charter, faith in international public law, commitment to global peace as leading UN peacekeeping troop contributing nations and resolved to seek friendship with all nations.
“We agreed to deepen cooperation in trade, agriculture, AI, sports, scholarships and defence. We are also negotiating a labour mobility agreement considering that Serbia seeks to offer 100,000 international work permits this year. Excellent cooperation between Ghana and Serbia”, he concluded.
