Tuggar Harps On Implementation Of Resolutions In ECOWAS Member States.

As the 94th Ordinary Session of the Economic Community of West African States, ECOWAS, Council of Ministers comes to a close in Abuja on Friday, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, has urged ECOWAS member states to implement resolutions reached at the meeting in the countries, so as to ensure smooth operations within the ECOWAS region.
Ambassador Tuggar whose two-year tenure as the Chair of Council of Ministers ends with the closing session, made the appeal, noting that the conclusions reached during the meeting will no doubt contribute to the actualization of the Regional Integration Agenda of ECOWAS.
“It remains essential that we encourage our respective governments to faithfully implement the decisions we have adopted and to actively support the recommendations, implementation, and implementation of the regional integration agenda.
“As we conclude this session, I wish to convey my profound gratitude for your commitment
and invaluable perspectives and your contributions to our deliberations over the past few days. Your dedication to our shared vision, and core principles of regional cooperation have been truly commendable and deeply inspiring.
Our discussions have clearly demonstrated a collective resolve to address the pressing challenges confronting our region, challenges that bear direct impact on the well-being of our citizens and long-term prosperity of our members”, he said.
Ambassador Tugar appreciated the ECOWAS, Nigerian government, and participants at the meeting, stating that ECOWAS is first among equals.
“I wish to express my appreciation to the ECOWAS Commission for their commitment in preparing the comprehensive working documents that have so ably guided and enriched our deliberations.
I’m confident that the ECOWAS Commission will continue to work with the ECOWAS Commission
to ensure that the high standard demonstrated during this session will continue to define our future interactions”, he added.
