UK Prime Minister Sunak Reshuffles Cabinet, Fires Interior Minister Amid Controversy.

The United Kingdom Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has reportedly dismissed Interior Minister Suella Braverman, following a wave of criticism surrounding her recent actions. The reshuffle, aimed at restructuring the top cabinet, was confirmed by the Prime Minister’s office on Monday.
Foreign Minister James Cleverley has been appointed as Braverman’s replacement, stepping into the role amid increasing scrutiny of the now-former Interior Minister. The reshuffle also saw the unexpected arrival of former Prime Minister David Cameron at Downing Street.
Braverman faced widespread backlash after publishing an op-ed in The Times that not only disregarded guidance from Downing Street but also accused London police of displaying political bias in handling protests. The controversial remarks fueled tensions, leading to clashes between far-right groups and law enforcement in London.
This is not the first time Braverman has courted controversy during her tenure. Previously, she resigned from the same position under Sunak’s predecessor, Liz Truss, following a serious breach of the ministerial code. Her use of a personal email to send an official document prompted her resignation.
The former Interior Minister has also been criticized for labeling pro-Palestine marches in London as “hate marches.” In her op-ed, she drew parallels between the protests and past events in Northern Ireland, drawing condemnation for the incendiary and inaccurate nature of her comments.
