By Caroline Ameh

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has disclaimed an ongoing fraudulent recruitment advertisement falsely claiming to offer employment opportunities within the Ministry.

In a statement released on Wednesday and signed by the Ministry’s Spokesperson, Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, the Ministry said the fake recruitment notice, which has been circulating online and on various other platforms, bears the forged signature of the Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs.

“The Ministry unequivocally disassociates itself from this misleading and malicious advertisement,” the statement read. “The general public is advised to disregard such announcements and avoid engaging with individuals or groups promoting these scams.”

The Ministry reiterated that all recruitment into the Nigerian Foreign Service is solely conducted by the Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC), and it does not engage in direct hiring or demand payment for job applications or appointments.

It urged Nigerians to remain alert and report suspicious recruitment activities to relevant authorities.

“The Ministry remains committed to upholding the highest standards of transparency and integrity,” the statement added, calling on the public to stay informed and vigilant against employment-related fraud.
