Nigeria Felicitates with Jamaica on 61st Independence Anniversary.

Nigeria has congratulated the Republic of Jamaica on the occasion of its 61st Independence Anniversary, reaffirming the strong historical, cultural, and diplomatic ties shared between both nations.
In a statement issued on Wednesday by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Abuja, signed by Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, extended warm felicitations to his Jamaican counterpart, Her Excellency Kamina Johnson Smith, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Jamaica.
“Nigeria and Jamaica share deep historical and cultural ties rooted in a common heritage, resilience, and a shared commitment to the advancement of the African diaspora,” the statement read.
Ambassador Tuggar praised Jamaica’s strides in governance, education, sports, culture, and sustainable development, noting that the country’s achievements continue to earn admiration across Africa, the Caribbean, and beyond.
The statement further emphasized Nigeria’s commitment to deepening bilateral relations with Jamaica, especially in areas such as trade, education, tourism, sport, and cultural exchange.
“As Jamaica marks this auspicious occasion, Nigeria joins in the spirit of unity, pride and celebration, and looks forward to enhanced collaboration between both nations at regional and international fora, including the Commonwealth and the United Nations,” the statement concluded.
