ECOWAS Convenes 2026 Day Celebration, Harps On Regional Integration.

The Economic Community of West African States, ECOWAS Permanent Observer Mission to the United Nations, in collaboration with the ECOWAS Group of Ambassadors to the UN, convened the ECOWAS Day 2026 High-Level Event at the United Nations Headquarters, New York, United States of America.
According to a statement on Tuesday by the Commission, the event was held under the theme: “Investing in Peace, Prosperity and Resilience in West Africa: Building Partnerships for Regional Economic Integration, Trade and Development.”
The event was held in commemoration of the 51st anniversary of ECOWAS, and brought together ECOWAS Member States at the United Nations, senior United Nations officials, international financial institutions, regional organisations, development partners, private sector representatives, civil society and policy experts.
The occasion was to reflect on how regional economic integration, trade, investment and strategic partnerships can advance peace, resilience and sustainable development in West Africa.
