ECOWAS Commends Sierra Leone’s Effort In Return Of Its Former President Koroma.

The Economic Community of West African States, (ECOWAS), has commended the government of the Republic of Sierra Leone for
dropping the charges against the country’s former President, Ernest Bai Koroma, in the interest of national reconciliation, unity, and lasting peace.
The ECOWAS Commission also commended particularly, the Country’s President, Julius Maada Bio, for facilitating the return of Koroma.

The ECOWAS Commission in a statement yesterday, said this development follows the Government’s decision to drop the charges against the former President Koroma in the interest of lasting peace.
The Commission also expressed its gratitude to ECOWAS leaders, particularly Nigerian President, Bola Tinubu, for his leadership and support in hosting former President Koroma, and facilitating his safe return to Sierra Leone.
