Abuja Mega Lions Club Sets To Revive Primary Health Care Pyakasa.

Abuja Mega Lions Club has conducted a fundraising exercise to raise Thirty Million Naira (#30,000,000) to achieve its vision of renovating a Primary Healthcare Centre in Pyakasa, Lugbe, a suburb in the nation’s capital, Abuja.

The fundraising investiture ceremony was held in honour of new President of the Club, Ln. Patricia Akpana Stephen, as the 6th President of the Abuja Mega Lions Club for the 2026/2027 Lions year and installation of Club officers.

Lion Stephen said the Club’s proposed intervention that requires the aforementioned sum will help to address critical areas including roof repairs and general painting, toilet renovation, provision of laboratory cabinets, improvement of the staff quarters, construction of an injection cubicle, shelves for the delivery room, bedside cabinets for the wards, renovation of the main entrance slab, improved storage facilities, refurbishment of furniture, installation of window nets, and the relocation or renovation of the existing wooden injection centre.

According to the Club’s 6th President, this is more than a renovation project, but an investment in health, dignity, safety and hope. She said this is their opportunity to leave behind a facility that will continue to serve mothers, children, families and healthcare workers long after their tenure in office.

“Every contribution, no matter the size, will bring us one step closer to transforming the Pyakasa Primary Health Care Centre into a more functional and welcoming healthcare facility. I therefore appeal to everyone here tonight: let us give, let us support, and let us become part of this story of transformation”, Ln. Stephen said.

She therefore called on members of the Club to make the 2026/2027 Lions year a year of unity, purposeful service, greater participation and lasting impact.

In his remarks, the immediate past President of Abuja Mega Lion’s Club, Ln. (Dr) Charles Bassey, while expressing his pleasure to witness the event, encouraged the new officers of the Club to continue with the good deed of the Club.

On her part, the Chairperson of the Investiture Committee, Ln. Dr Linda John, who is also the 2nd Vice President, appreciated everyone who contributed towards the success of the event, sponsors and partners , noting that the success gained is a reflection of what can be achieved when come together with a shared purpose and vision.
