Akpabio Advocates For Stronger Collaboration Between Nigeria And The US.

The President of the Nigerian Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, emphasized the need for increased collaboration and cooperation between Nigeria and the United States. Senator Akpabio’s call for closer ties came during a meeting with a delegation from the American embassy in Nigeria, led by the chargé d’affaires, David Greene.
Akpabio highlighted the pivotal role that the United States plays in promoting democracy and democratic values on a global scale. He acknowledged that this commitment sometimes necessitates Americans to make significant sacrifices. He urged the American government not to waver in its role as a guiding influence, emphasizing that the world looks to the oldest democracy for leadership.
“I am a strong believer in the principles of American democracy, and I earnestly request that you continue to provide assistance to Nigeria and other nations as we progress along the path of democracy,” Senator Akpabio expressed.
Mr. Greene, the chargé d’affaires, conveyed his delegation’s intentions to foster collaborative efforts with the Nigerian Senate across various areas. He explained, “We are here today to extend our congratulations to the Senate President and to explore opportunities for working together to benefit the Nigerian people collectively.”
The meeting ended with the exchange of tokens of goodwill and souvenirs between the host, Senator Akpabio, and the visiting American delegation, reinforcing the shared commitment to strengthening the relationship between the two nations.
