China Pledges 200 Million RMB Grant To Support Economic Development In Nigeria, Advances Strategic Partnership.

The Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Yu Dunhai has highlighted the strong diplomatic relations between China and Nigeria, highlighting that over the past fifty-five years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Nigeria, bilateral relations have consistently remained at the forefront of China-Africa relations.

Speaking when he met with the Permanent Secretary of the Nigerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Dunoma Ahmed, Ambassador Dunhai, said China and Nigeria have maintained close communication and coordination, working together to implement the common understandings reached by the two heads of state and the outcomes of the 2024 FOCAC Beijing Summit, and to ensure that more cooperation outcomes benefit the peoples of both countries.

According to Dunhai, in recent years, under the strategic guidance of President Xi Jinping and President Bola Tinubu, the China-Nigeria Comprehensive Strategic Partnership has entered a new stage of high-quality development, stating that to further support Nigeria’s national development and economic growth, China will provide two hundred million RMB in grant assistance to Nigeria for the implementation of projects agreed upon by the two governments.

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Dunoma Ahmed thanked China for its concrete support for Nigeria’s economic and social development, highlighting that the grant assistance fully demonstrates China’s sense of responsibility as a major country and reflects the deep friendship between Nigeria and China.

Dunoma Ahmed said Nigeria will make effective use of the grant assistance, work with China to implement the common understandings on bilateral cooperation reached by the two governments, and further advance Nigeria-China friendship, bringing greater benefits to the peoples of both countries.
