The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon Benjamin Kalu, has called on Nigerians to fully support the various economic reforms being implemented under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu, and urged the public to support the reserved seats bill currently before the National Assembly.
The Deputy Speaker made the appeal when he met with the 2025/2026 Cohort of Nigerians at the Harvard Kennedy School, Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States of America over the weekend.
He emphasised the importance of giving backing to the reforms which he said are aimed at driving economic growth, stability, and development in Nigeria.
Speaking on the reserved seats bill, the Deputy Speaker said the bill which he initiated is a part of broader efforts to enhance inclusivity and representation in Nigeria’s development.
“What this bill seeks to do is to create a space for women. You are thinking home and it’s an advantage for Nigeria that those outside the shores of Nigeria have not forgotten Nigeria.” He added that, despite being outside the shores of Nigeria, Nigerians at Harvard and other parts of the world remain connected to their homeland, and are committed to contributing to its development.
