French superstar Kylian Mbappe has finalized his switch to Real Madrid on a free transfer from Paris St-Germain. The 25-year-old, who confirmed his departure from PSG earlier this season, has officially penned terms with the Spanish giants and is set to don the iconic white jersey when the La Liga transfer window opens on July 1st.
Mbappe’s move to Madrid has been eagerly anticipated since he verbally agreed to the transfer in February. Now, with the deal sealed, the prolific forward is poised to make a significant impact at the Bernabeu, joining forces with the likes of Luka Modric to bolster Madrid’s attacking prowess.
The agreement sees Mbappe commit to Real Madrid until 2029, with a reported annual salary of 15 million euros (£12.8m). Additionally, he is set to receive a substantial signing-on bonus of 150 million euros (£128m) spread over five years, along with a percentage of his image rights.
Mbappe’s arrival coincides with the news of Modric’s contract extension with Madrid. The Croatian maestro, a pivotal figure in the club’s recent successes, is set to prolong his stay for another year, providing invaluable experience and leadership to the squad.
The departure of German midfielder Toni Kroos, who bid farewell to the club after a decade-long spell, marks the end of an era for Real Madrid. However, the arrival of Mbappe and the extension of Modric’s tenure signal a new chapter for the Spanish giants, as they look to maintain their dominance both domestically and on the European stage.
As Real Madrid prepares to celebrate their record-extending 15th European Cup title with a trophy parade through the streets of the Spanish capital, the acquisitions of Mbappe and the retention of Modric are sure to ignite optimism and excitement among fans worldwide.
