Palestinian Ambassador To Norway, Sedin Presents Letters Of Credence.

His Majesty King Harald of Norway has received the Letters of Credence from the newly appointed Palestinian Ambassador, Her Excellency, Marie Sedin on Wednesday, 24th April, 2025.
Norway and Palestine have established diplomatic relations with Norway recognising Palestine as an independent state on May 28, 2024. This move was part of a broader effort by Norway, Spain and Ireland to increase international support for Palestinian statehood.
Norway’s involvement in Palestinian affairs dates back to the 1993 Oslo Accords, which aimed to establish a framework for peaceful relations between Israel and the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO). Norway has since maintained a supportive stance towards Palestinian statehood. Norway provides significant financial assistance to Palestine, with an annual contribution of approximately 700 million NOK (Norwegian Kroner) to support development projects and humanitarian aid.
Marie Antoinette Sedin the Palestinian Ambassador to Norway and non-resident Ambassador to Iceland holds a Master’s Degree in Political Science
and a Bachelor’s Degree in Economy and Human Rights.
She has held several positions in her diplomatic career. She was Ambassador to Hungary 2013 to 2018. Ambassador to Denmark. Then, from 2010 to 2013, she served as Deputy Representative of the PLO: Sweden from 1982 to 1997 and 2004 to 2010.
Ambassador Sedin received the Hungarian Order of Merit in 2018 for her work in strengthening relations between Palestine and Hungary. she also played a key role in promoting Palestinian statehood and advocating for Palestinian rights.
As Ambassador, Marie Antoinette Sedin has been instrumental in fostering diplomatic relations between Palestine and Norway, and promoting Palestinian interests on the international stage.
