President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will depart Abuja on Saturday, January 11, to participate in the 2025 Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW), following an invitation from His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates.
The high-profile summit, scheduled to run from January 12 to 18 in the UAE, will bring together global leaders to accelerate sustainable development and promote socioeconomic progress under the theme “The Nexus of Next: Supercharging Sustainable Progress.”
This was made known in a press release signed by Mr. Bayo Onanuga Special Adviser to the President (Information and Strategy) on Friday in Abuja.
The event will provide a platform for policymakers, business executives, and civil society leaders to explore innovative pathways to achieve a more sustainable global economy and usher in a new era of prosperity.
For over 15 years, ADSW has fostered collaboration across various sectors, resulting in high-value agreements and partnerships between governments, industries, and clean energy innovators worldwide. The summit continues to drive impactful alliances and strengthen the global sustainability agenda.
During the summit, President Tinubu is expected to highlight his administration’s reforms across key sectors such as energy, transportation, public health, and economic development.
The Nigerian leader will also engage in bilateral discussions with UAE leaders on issues of mutual interest, including investment opportunities and strengthening diplomatic ties between both nations.
Accompanying the President on this trip are the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, and other senior government officials.
President Tinubu is expected to return to Nigeria on Thursday, January 16.
