Nigeria, Egypt To Strengthen Education and Diplomatic Ties.

Nigeria and Egypt have pledged to work collaboratively to improve education, strengthen diplomatic and trade relations.

Both countries also pledged to establish more long lasting relations in the Africa continent, Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr Badr Abdelatty made the pledge in Abuja, Monday, when he met with the Nigerian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar.

While speaking on Nigeria’s long lasting relations with Egypt, Ambassador Tuggar called for more partnership with Egypt to ensure the two countries remain leading lights of the African continent.

According to Ambassador Tuggar, President Bola Tinubu, and the Egyptian President Abdulfatai Alsisi, have been working behind the scene to smoothen the diplomatic and trade relations between the two nations.
He therefore called for a closer working relationship in terms of trade, agriculture, science and technology

In his speech, the Egyptian counterpart, Mr Abdr Abdelatty, highlighted the need for corporation by both countries in the areas of trade, agriculture education, and food security.

“We are delighted to recognize the role of the private sector players in the economy of our country, and urge your citizens to do more for our nation”, he said.

According to him, the Egyptian President, and the education authorities are committed to doubling the scholarships that the nation had awarded to many Nigerian citizens in Egyptian universities, adding that, both countries need to do more in terms of socio-economic development for their citizens, in addition to their existing cordial relations.
