Japan-Nigeria Business Facilitation Council holds.

The 2nd Japan-Nigeria Business Facilitation Council was held On 19 August, Ambassador MATSUNAGA Kazuyoshi and Hajiya Saratu Umar, Executive Secretary/CEO, of the Nigerian Investment Promotion Council has co-chaired the 2nd Japan Nigeria Business Facilitation Council. In August 2019, on the occasion of TICAD 7, former Prime Minister Abe and President Buhari agreed to establish a Japan-Nigeria Business Facilitation Council as a forum to discuss business environment improvements to promote bilateral economic exchange. At the second council meeting, a report on the activities of the Working Level Group and requests for environmental improvements from Japanese businesses were handed to the co-chairs. The Japanese members of the Council, JETRO and JICA, explained their cooperation activities in Nigeria, while the Nigerian members, the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment explained their industrial human resource development measures, and the Central Bank explained their foreign exchange system. Both chairs agreed to strengthen and deepen cooperation to resolve issues in the future, and agreed to conduct factory visits of Japanese companies manufacturing in Nigeria before the next meeting.
After the meeting, Mr. Michael Anusa, General Manager of JETRO, received an award from Ambassador Matsunaga in recognition of his longstanding contribution to the establishment of Japan-Nigeria business relations. During the networking session, attendees had a chance to chat and exchange views.
